  2. In English 9, we had to give a short speech about someone we care about. I talked about my mom. I made up the speech on the dot. so it wasn't very good at all. Preferably plan the speech before you make it!

  3. Just pretend you are talking to your friends and you will have no problem. Act as if it is a casual conversation and you will do fine. Just tell yourself you could be doing worse. You could have been the one that has their shirt tucked into their underwear or something like that when you go up there. Just reassure yourself that you are going to do a great job and it will happen!!

  4. Don't over-think it! You will just get more nervous about the speech. Just think that the sooner you go, the sooner it is over.

  5. A good speech should be like a comet: Dazzling, eye-opening and over before you know it.

  6. When giving your speech, don't sit there and drag on because then it isn't fun for the audience, you, or Mrs. DeBruin. Be creative! Put your personality into it. Practice it, and by practice, I mean make sure you know what you are talking about. One last thing, if you're really that nervous, just picture the audience in their underwear. Works everytime!

  7. Make the speech ahead of time and stare at something in the room like the projector like Tristan Richardson does in Spanish class.

  8. Preparation is the key to a great speech. If you aren't prepared, then it will show! "Winging" speeches just stresses you out more than actually taking time to write a few things down on note cards. Take the time to do this and it will make you less nervous and also get you a much better grade.

    1. You see if you are very nervous about giving speaches like I am just try to get something on your mind to relax and let you speak what you feel instead of feeling pushed to say somthing your audience would react positivley to. Remember there will always be cridicts who dont like what you are talking about; just forget about them and make sure you are ready to speak your mid on your topic. Having notes down are also good if you dont read off them; and also one more thing if you need somthing to imagine to lighten the load on you imagine the audience in somthing funny to make you smile and relax then start your speach it does help.
